Numerous network based applications require certain ports and protocols to be open for single or bi-directional communications. In many cases, if the required ports and or protocols are not open, the application will not function properly. All too often, in environments that lack senior level technical personnel, users are told to "drop" or "Shut off" their firewall as a "Quick" fix. However, the security implications of such an act could be disastrous for customer data or business account data.

In response to the need to automate the opening of specific ports and protocols without  negatively impacting security , Jim Aloye has developed a software application that will automatically make any and all port and protocol specific windows firewall configuration changes required by your software application, or any commercial software application that requires numerous firewall adjustments.
